Ironically you would assume that all Christians believe that all the Bible is true, but the reality many have been blinded by the lie of a postmodern world. I have met many who say they are Christian or believe in God, but they do not believe in the Bible. They stand on the foundation that if God is loving He will not condemn people for their sins. All I can say is… WHAT?! Do you not read your Bible? They also tell me that they do not go to church, and they are big on that they do not need the Bible or church to know God. If you did not know this that thinking is not Christianity that is humanism, man’s philosophy, postmodern thinking, Asian philosophy, universalism, and many of the options of religious beliefs have given human kind the position to stand “on their own”.
If you really spend the time to know Scripture and then compare it on other religious beliefs it is based on a relationship with God, the Creator. Many religions are based on you doing something to receive something. Even if you stand by “good spirits” who help you “walk” the path does not mean you deserve salvation. Sin is separation from a perfect God. Perfection is the only way you could even be considered. What does Scripture state,
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, -Romans 3:23-24 (ESV)
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. -Romans 6:23 (ESV)
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. -1 John 1:9 (ESV)
Wait, are you saying that the sin is Scripture is real and a Loving God will send me to Hell for it if I do not accept Jesus Christ as my Savior? Yes, it is true. But that is not fair, how can a Loving God send my mother or father, brother or sister, my friend friend to Hell over sin? The Scripture clearly states that sin’s penalty is DEATH, but Jesus Christ born of a Virgin willing lived a sinless life to die on the Cross for you. He rose again on the third day, and He defeated death and the penalty. It is not by your means, but by the saving Grace of Jesus Christ that you do not have to face the penalty of death.
What about the many copies of Scripture that have been created of time? Mankind had to change something, and therefore Scripture cannot be true, right? Lets get real here, do you think (if you are a Christian or believe in God) that He would not take care of His Word? It does not mean that men do try to create their own truth or translate Scripture to fit their theology. When the Old Testament was copied it was done ceremonial. It was only rewritten by Scribes word for word. There were thousands of copies, and if they messed up they would start over. Many of these OT copies were destroyed in the Holocaust in World War II. The New Testament was written by the Authors that you can see as you read. The copying was not done by the Scribes as before do to Rome invading their providence, but it was copied with the same care. There are also many of numerous copies word for word even up to today. A true copy of Scripture will go back to the Latin, Hebrew, and Greek of the Scriptures as their basis of copying into any language. Did you know there is more solid copies of Scripture (specifically NT) than other famous historical/ancient texts. Check link for an article and table http://carm.org/manuscript-evidence
As you can see how many of the other books have been considered true without question, but Scripture is full of myths? The truth is the Bible is rejected because it goes against our sin nature to accept. We want to have control, and if we have to be accountable for our actions, beliefs, and theology then we would have to live in a godly matter. We would have to see that liberal thinking is against much of Scripture. It would mean lowering divorce, confronting sin, spreading the gospel to your community, families would be strong, men would be men, women would be women, and God would be honored. Is Scripture true?
