The Band below, Worth Dying For, has been a group I have been listening to a lot lately. Many of their lyrics are built upon giving it all to God. Surrendering all to His will and glorifying what Jesus has done for us all. It is the Gospel, the Message of Jesus Christ the Son of God being born of the virgin birth, living life as a human, and willingly dying on the Cross for you and me (John 3:16-17; Titus 2:11; 1 Pet 1:3-9; Heb 9:27-28). If you have read some of my other blogs I have mentioned the fact that we are born in Sin because of the Sin of Adam (Rom 5:12-13; Ps 51:5; 58:3; 1 Cor 15:22). Jesus is the second person of the Trinity (God the Father, Jesus the Son, the Holy Spirit), of which is 3 of 1. Can you imagine sending someone you love so much to die for the majority? Many military men and women have given themselves for God and Country, Firefighters and Police have died in the line of fire to uphold the law, but what about you? Would you die for Christ?
What we do not realize is that when we became a Christian we did die, or as Jesus spoke to Nicodemus we need to be reborn. Paul speaks about the old man being put aside, and we become a new creature in Christ. Paul even speaks about the changing of the mindset. So why is it that we still live on earth after Salvation if all we need to do is accept Him? There is so much more than just becoming a Christian. There is a change, and then God has a plan for us. Some of us will get to do things for a long time in this world while some may serve in death (Phil 2:12-13). There has been many Christians long before America and even up to the present who have died for the Gospel of Christ. It is a reality that many have faced, especially many missionaries who serve in the Front Lines (Ex: Non-profit: http://www.frontlinemissions.info/ ) This blog is not about missions, but I wanted to show that it is real out there for some Christians who must hide in secret to worship, study, or even read Scripture.
The main reason I am writing is to ask you this, is Jesus worth dying for where you are at? This does not need to be a physical death, but it could be a result of you turning from your sin, standing for the truth, or taking on ridicule/persecution right here in your life. I have faced some of my own at past jobs where one gentle man would make his way to my office to make fun of my Christianity. Examples: What you looking at on the computer? Porn? How come you don’t want to drink, go to bars, or sleep with women? You gay? Don’t you just want to cuss at me, come on say something? Yeah this was every morning, and this happened for basically 1 whole year.
You see they do not hate you because of you they hate you because of Christ. They see something different in you, and it scares them. I will mention that change did happen to many of the men there as one took his family back to church, one wanted to know Christ, one turned from his sin back to God, and more! You see you are in the front lines where ever you are currently: school, work, home, and life. The Enemy does not want you succeed, the Enemy does not want you to do what God has planned for you. Why do you think there are so many distractions around you: Social Media, Hobbies, too much work, Games, Sports, and much more in your life to keep your eyes off Christ and on pleasing yourself. Do you have the Armor of God on you?
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, -Ephesians 6:10-18 (ESV)
Will you surrender your life to Christ, realizing you are a sinner, and accept Jesus as your Savior? If you want to know Him, ask Him to save you, repent (turn from your sin), and give your life to Him. Then look up a church near by and speak to a pastor about accepting Jesus as your Savior. Get into a Bible Study, learn how to build a relationship with Him. He wants you to be apart of His family, He has been chasing you since before you were born. Will you run to His arms?
