We have forgotten the gift God gave us that once could only be done by priests. We can come to prayer standing before God on behalf of what Christ has done for us. We do not have to count on the priests to speak on our behalf. Did you know that praying is basically talking to God? He longs for a relationship with you that we can come to prayer to talk just as we talk with a friend. Though we should remember who He is as our Lord we can still come to Him for anything. We sometimes take prayer as so sacred that we fear speaking to Him. We think, “How can we talk to the Creator of life?” He even reminds us that we can come to Him and cast our cares before Him. We can request needs and desires. He is there waiting for you to take that moment and talk with Him.
In hind site we must remember that a conversation is not one sided. As humans we make the same mistake by taking over a conversation. What do you think is one issue that people do in a conversation? They do not take the time to listen. Many even spend the time “listening” to thinking about what they want to say. I am not saying directly that you will here God speak, but we do have His word. The Bible is His words on paper. It only gives us a glimpse of who He is. Do you spend time in God’s Word? Because I hear to many people say that He has never spoke nor shown Himself to exist; yet they choose to ignore the Bible as a book of myths, stories, or contradictions. Because they would rather believe the lie over discovering the truth.
God has been chasing you even before you were formed in your mother’s womb. He knew you, and He hopes that you will discover what Jesus has done for you. It is al about the relationship. Prayer is a gift that we have taken for granted. You do not need to be afraid, for He longs for you to take the time to speak with Him.
15 and call upon me in the day of trouble;
I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me. Psalm 50:15 (ESV)

Realizing that you are a sinner that must repent (turn from) from your sinful life and give your life to Jesus.
Christian of you are reading this, take this moment to pray. Talk with Him at any time of the day. If you must learn to pray, find a place you can be alone (Matt 6:5-12 ESV) so that you can also listen in silence. Train yourself to spend time with God in prayer. Meditate on His word as a prayer. He is waiting for you, will you go before Him in prayer?
