When we are born, we are born with the nature of sin. Sin is the object of separation from God. We live with the flesh as walking dead. For the penalty of sin is death. There is nothing we can do by ourselves to be freed from this fate. Nothing by our power can change the path that we will reach once we meet death face to face. It sounds like there is no reason to live. So why do you exist?
There is a battle that wages each day for the souls of mankind. God has a desire to build a relationship for each of us. Not wishing for any of us to die to sin. Sin came into our world when Adam and Eve disobeyed the one rule/law that God gave them to keep. They could eat from any tree in the garden except the Tree of Life. Adam and Eve made the decision to eat of it and their eyes were opened (to sin) (Gen 2-3). That moment is when the purity of mankind fell into the darkness of sin. They were punished by God, and their children’s generations will be born into sin.
What hope do we have? Israel is the chosen people of Jehovah God and each week the priesthood would take an animal (dove, calf, etc.) to be sacrificed, and even if at that moment the priests could die if the sacrifice is not adequate. Hundreds of years later, based on promises/prophecies written in the Old Testament (Isaiah is a good start to research) that their would come a Savior, the Messiah. He was born of a virgin and named Jesus Christ. Yeah, the one that people love to curse at, use His name in vain, and call weak. He was God as a human. He lived a sinless life, by the way that is why certain animals were chosen, while doing the Will of the Lord. He was known as Rabbi, Master, Carpenter, and the Christ. He then put to death on the Cross, Buried, Defeats death, and Rises again on the third day. All those who deny who He is and what he has done for us as sinners will continue to walk as the undead. No hope, no glorious end just death and separation from God for eternity.
Sin rots us from the bottom to the top. From the heart to our mindset there is the power of the flesh fighting against the spirit. Once you accept Jesus Christ you will become a Christian. One that follows Christ and with the Spirit lives life for Him. You will not be one that follows the world and sin, but you will discover the peace and joy that God can offer with a relationship based on the saving grace (blood covered) of Jesus. You will not face death with separation, but eternity in Heaven with Jesus.
