In our current society we spend so much time on the move. We run from our issues, hide in our own worlds, and stay busy to avoid dealing with our lives. We think that God needs to prove Himself to us, but the truth is we are so busy that we don’t pay attention. Then when times get low, we yell out to Him, “where were you?” The real question you should be saying is, “why did I not walk with you?”
God has never left us. He has being chasing after us since we were born. Our sin nature wants us to believe that we don’t need to count on a God, find happiness from within, and the strongest will last. We fight each an every day against the wills of this world, and we believe that we can do it alone. As Christians, we were given the Holy Spirit and God’s Word to guide and mold us into His Disciples. We believe as long as we spend time praying, reading Scripture, and church we are walking with the Lord. Then on the turn about, we spend time running. We run from our issues, hide in our hobbies, and loose ourselves in the worlds be happy attitude.
The battle has come for your souls. God wants you to realize that He desires your relationship. He wants to spend time with you, and He will not force it on you. You see He will wait for you, and He will even show Himself to you each day. It is never that God has be ignoring you, it is that we have been ignoring Him. How can we win each battle?
Remember we discussed that He desires a relationship with us. That doesn’t mean as long as we are at church or read Scripture each day. It is about chasing after Him as well. We have people in our lives that we would stop what we are doing to help them. Think of people you love, how much time do you spend with them? Do you know what they like (food, favorite color)? How about what they don’t like? God desires the same type of relationship. You will have to spend time wanting to know Him. To better know what God desires of you requires you to make the effort. Just remember, He is chasing after you. Will you slow down and connect with Him?
